Introducing a new SUV brand in a competitive, price-sensitive market is no small feat, but Nic Campbell, the newly appointed Vice President of Jetour South Africa, believes the company can set a new standard in the local automotive industry. With over 14 years of experience in the motoring trade, including working with international car brands and manufacturers, Campbell is well-versed in balancing global expectations with local needs. He emphasizes that while dealer satisfaction is important, the brand’s focus is on putting customers first.

“When a customer returns to the dealership at the end of their 10-year, one-million-kilometer warranty, we want them to be as satisfied as when they first bought the vehicle,” says Campbell. This long-term warranty is a key feature that Jetour believes will help build trust in the brand, which first launched in China in 2018.

Jetour aims to offer great value with luxury interiors, advanced safety features, and solid performance. The company plans to introduce the 7-seater Jetour X70 Plus and 5-seater Dashing models to South Africa by September 2024. To support the launch, Jetour has secured 40 dealerships and stocked R100 million in parts at their Kyalami headquarters to ensure smooth after-sales support. Campbell acknowledges the challenges of launching a new brand in South Africa but remains confident, highlighting the importance of understanding local customer needs. He emphasizes that Jetour isn’t just looking to sell one car per family but hopes to create a broader connection, positioning itself as a family mobility solution.
The official South African launch will take place in Johannesburg on 20 September 2024.
