The closing part of 2024 proved to be all about Mustang for Ford South Africa, the Mach-E being cancelled and the introduction of the GT and full-fat Dark Horse, here is what the Blue Oval is looking forward to in the new year.

Speculation: a brand that likes to keep its cards close to its chest, we anticipate Ford will look to build on the momentum of its popular Ranger and Everest offerings – while following the Australian market’s lead – by introducing more special edition versions of each. This includes at least one more Ranger derivative – other than the plug-in hybrid version – and the Everest Tremor model already on sale Down Under.

We thought 2025 could be the year we see the all-electric Mach-E join its recently introduced all-new Mustang GT and Mustang Dark Horse in local showrooms, but a late announcement in November says otherwise. The local market according to Ford has not matured enough for premium EVs just yet. While we’re having fun, we hope an announcement of a right-hand drive version of the modern Bronco is far away.
