More than 170 sought-after cars across a variety of categories are scheduled to cross Broad Arrow’s Monterey auction runway on 13 and 14 August 2025 in California. Among the selection, a trio of rare Porsche 911-based RUF models will be up for grabs. We detail each one of them…

1. 1998 RUF CTR 2 Sport

Headlining the auction, the 1998 RUF CTR 2 Sport is valued between $3 million and $3.5 million, which, at the current Rand-Dollar exchange rate, translates to a whopping R55.5 million and R64.75 million, respectively. Based on the 993-generation 911, this RUF-tuned Porsche features a 3.6-litre flat-six that produced 432 kW and 684 Nm, sent to all four corners via a revised six-speed manual transmission. The car’s claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time is quoted at 3.6 seconds, while the top speed is estimated at 350 km/h. Stopping power is provided by a set of carbon brakes.

Only 29 CTR 2 models were produced, with just 14 of those being the track-focused yet street-legal CTR 2 Sport derivatives. Noteworthy, the example that will go under the gavel is one of only four versions equipped with all-wheel drive.

2. 2011 RUF RT Roadster

Another highlight of the auction comes in the shape of a 2011 RT Roadster, which is valued between $900 000 and $1.2 million (approximately R16.65 million and R22.2 million, respectively). Based on RUF’s Rt12 S, this coachbuilt car takes inspiration from the 1967 911 “soft-window” Targa. This RUF roadster is powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo boxer-six, which produces 447 kW and 729 Nm. Power is delivered to both the fore and aft axle via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

3. 1987 Porsche 911 RUF Carrera 3.4 ‘Goldfinger’

A 1987 RUF Carrera 3.4 ‘Goldfinger’ will also be offered at the auction. Valued at $850 000 to $1.1 million (approximately R15.7 million and R20.35 million, respectively), this car was originally a US-spec 1987 Carrera Coupé, which received the full “RUF” treatment in 2018. Noteworthy, since then, it’s been driven less than 5 000 km.

The ‘Goldfinger’ model’s design was inspired by the 3.0-litre RSR from 1974. The car employs a 200 kW 3.4-litre horizontally-opposed six-cylinder, which coupled with a five-speed gearbox – the latter featuring an upgraded clutch. Further revisions include RUF-tuned dampers and CTR-spec brakes.
