Aston Martin Unveils (515 kW!) DB12 S
Billed as the most potent model in Aston Martin’s DB bloodline, the British marque has unveiled the DB12 S.

In July 2025, Aston Martin handed the Vantage the ‘S’ treatment — uprating its most compact sports car’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, to 500 kW, and adding choice mechanical upgrades to the package. Now, the British luxury marque has announced the introduction of the DB12 S, a more focused version of the “standard” model we sampled in Cape Town in November 2024.
As a reminder, the “standard” DB12’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 churns out 494 kW and 800 N.m of torque – good for a (tested) 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.76 seconds (the firm claims 3.6 seconds) in Coupé guise. The S-badged model, however, produces a healthier 515 kW. Torque has remained untouched, with 800 N.m delivered to the rear axle via an eight-speed automatic transmission in a broad 3 000 to 6 000 r/min swathe of the rev band.

The automaker says calibrations made to the powertrain have optimised the launch control system – reducing gear shift times by more than 50%. And this has contributed to quicker 0-100 km/h sprint times. Aston Martin claims the DB12 S Coupé and Volante complete the 0-100 km/h dash in 3.5 and 3.6 seconds, respectively, before topping out at 325 km/h.
Stopping power is provided by a standard-fitment carbon-ceramic braking system, replete with 410 mm fore/360 mm aft discs – the former and latter sited behind 21-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 275/35-size front and 325/30-size rear Michelin Pilot Sport 5 S tyres.
