The countdown has begun – Toyota has finally announced when the new Hilux will make its debut, along with releasing the first official teaser of the ninth generation.

The wait is almost over, folks – the new Hilux’s global reveal is just around the corner, with Toyota Motor Thailand announcing when the ninth generation will make its international debut in a recently released teaser video, published on the automaker’s YouTube channel (watch the teaser below).
Teased in double-cab format, little of the upcoming Hilux’s exterior detail is shown in the 15-second clip (it is a teaser, no less), though a few of the new design elements are noticeable. The latter includes the redesigned, more sculpted bonnet, tapered headlamp clusters with fresh LED daytime-running lights, more pronounced front bumper, and new taillamps. The new alloy wheels, finished in black on the example featured here, are also present.
Toyota Motor Thailand has confirmed the new Toyota Hilux will be revealed on 10 November 2025.
While the cabin isn’t shown in the clip, a fresh leak of the interior, which recently surfaced online, has given us a glimpse into how the new Hilux will look inside. Resembling what was depicted in a leaked patent drawing, the ninth iteration’s redesigned facia is set to feature a larger touchscreen infotainment system, new instrumentation binnacle, and dual glove boxes, to name but a few items.
The Japanese marque has remained tight-lipped about which engines the soon-to-be-unveiled next generation will employ. However, reports have suggested Toyota’s tried-and-tested 2.8-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel unit, in either “standard” or 48 V mild-hybrid format, will be available. From what we understand, the Hilux will again be based on the automaker’s IMV platform, which also underpins the new Land Cruiser FJ, which has been confirmed for South Africa in 2026.
