Chery South Africa is celebrating its highest monthly sales performance since its return to SA in 2021. In November 2025, Chery SA recorded a total sales figure of 2 506 units sold, the Chinese automaker’s best local monthly sales performance yet. This secured the brand a seventh-place finish among the best-selling car brands in SA and top spot as the best-selling Chinese car brand in South Africa last month.
Leading the charge once again was the Tiggo 4 Pro, which claimed top spot among the best-selling Chinese passenger cars in SA and a podium finish among the overall best-selling passenger cars in SA. Chery also noted that sales of the Tiggo Cross CSH (Chery Super Hybrid) also increased last month, though hasn’t released this model’s individual sales figure.
The Wuhu-based automaker first introduced plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models this year, with the introduction of PHEV versions of the Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 9 flagship.
Chery SA attributes its sales success to its dealership network of over 80 branches nationwide, and its expanding range of SUVs and electrified models. The Chinese marque intends to continue its momentum in 2026 with the introduction of its first all-electric models and entry into the highly competitive local bakkie segment with the Himla double-cab, which we sampled in China.
Said Jay Jay Botes, General Manager of Chery SA, “These outstanding results and our 2 500 record sales confirm that Chery is becoming a brand South Africans love and believe in.”
