Cape 1000 Set to Return in 2025 for Fourth Edition

Also known as South Africa’s most breathtaking and exhilarating drive, the fourth edition of the Cape 1000 is set to return from 16 to 21 March 2025. Known for its stunning routes through the picturesque Western Cape, the event promises a fresh experience each year, with this edition starting at the iconic V&A Waterfront. Participants will journey through scenic stops in Hermanus and Franschhoek before returning to the vibrant heart of Cape Town.

This year, the rally is once again hosted in partnership with Private Clients by Old Mutual Wealth and will feature a new partner, the Official Ferrari Dealer Scuderia South Africa, which will be entering four cars, ranging from the latest modern sports cars to exquisite classics.
“The Cape 1000 has quickly earned a reputation as South Africa’s most beautiful drive,” says Event Director Vanessa Crichton, announcing that entries are now officially open. The exclusive entry list is capped at 65 cars, ensuring a select group of participants.
First launched in 2022, this regularity car rally is inspired by legendary tribute races from around the globe. It features four distinct categories: Pre-1976 (Classic), 1977-1996 (Modern Classic), 1997-current (Sports), and Restomod/Recreation. This variety allows for a wide range of vehicles to participate, adding to the unique charm of the event.

“We are thrilled to bring back this fabulous grand touring regularity rally for the fourth time,” Crichton adds. “Hosted against the incredible backdrop of the Western Cape, we eagerly anticipate welcoming participants from both South Africa and around the world, as the event continues to grow on the international stage.”
The four-day rally will begin at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town and will traverse through Hermanus, Franschhoek, and Ceres before circling back to the Waterfront. While the event is primarily a grand touring experience, the 2025 edition will place greater emphasis on the regularity rallying aspect, focusing on competitive driving.
Prospective entrants are encouraged to register on the Cape 1000 website.
