Rare 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 for Sale at Over 12x Its Original Price
A rare Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 has been listed for sale…and it comes with an eye-watering price tag over 12 times its original price.

Graham Rahal Performance in Zionsville, Indiana, recently listed a Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0, replete with paint-to-sample GT Silver exterior finish, on their website for an eye-watering $2 699 996, or a whopping R48 416 022.63 at the current Rand-Dollar exchange rate. According to the company, this 2011 example is not just one of only 39 PTS 4.0 models in existence, but is also one of the lowest-mileage examples of its kind, with the car seen here having as little as 549 km on the clock. Car number 312 (of the 600 built) was purchased by its original owner in 2011 for $216 210 (around R1 569 100 at the Rand-Dollar exchange rate of that time).
Complementing the car’s PTS bodywork are model-specific decals, finished in black with bright red accents. The latter hues are carried over to the wing mirrors and wheels, which feature red “RS” logo on the centre caps and house gold brake callipers.

The highly specced 911 GT3 RS has an interior to match. The cabin is upholstered in black leather and Alcantara, and features red seatbelts and red door pulls. On the passenger side is a plaque marking this car’s production number.
The track-ready 997.2 generation has gained a reputation for being the sweet spot in performance and usability, and is often referred to as the height of Porsche engineering. The 997.2 also represents the end of an era, as it was the final 911 iteration to be powered by the ‘Mezger’ 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six. Hydraulic steering and a six-speed manual gearbox added to the analogue driving experience.
